Camogie league fixtures announced as All-Ireland champions Kilkenny get back on the pitch this May

Kilkenny are represented in Divisions 1 and 2 with Carlow in Division 3.

All-Ireland senior camogie champions Kilkenny will start their season on the pitch this May.

Scoreline.ie has seen the Littlewoods Ireland National League fixtures, released late Friday with Kilkenny taking to Division 1, Group 3 in this year’s league competition.

There will be three rounds of group fixtures, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals / relegation play-offs, and the overall league finals / relegation finals.

This year’s league final is scheduled for the weekend of 19/20 June.

Kilkenny are also represented in Division 2 with Carlow in Division 3, all teams beginning on Saturday 15 May.

The news follows the release of the GAA’s revised master fixture list for hurling and football this past Thursday.

Division 1

Division 1 is split into three groups

  • Group 1: Galway, Clare, Limerick
  • Group 2: Cork, Tipperary, Waterford
  • Group 3: Kilkenny, Dublin Offaly

With three groups of three, two of the group winners will go straight to the semi-finals, the other to the quarter-finals with the three group runners-up.

Round One: Saturday 15 May

  • Galway v Clare
  • Cork v Tipperary
  • Kilkenny v Dublin

Limerick, Waterford and Offaly have a bye-week.

Round Two: Saturday 22 May

  • Clare v Limerick
  • Tipperary v Waterford
  • Dublin v Offaly

Galway, Cork, Kilkenny have a bye-week

Round Three: Saturday 29 May

  • Limerick v Galway
  • Waterford v Cork
  • Offaly v Kilkenny

Clare, Tipperary and Dublin have a bye-week.

Knockout Stages for Division 1

  • Quarter-finals: Weekend 5/6 June
  • Semi-final / Relegation play-offs: 12/13 June
  • Final / relegation finals: 19/20 June
  • Final replay (if needed) 26/27 June

Division 2

Division 2 is operating in four groups with two groups of three and four respectively. The top two in each group go to the quarter-finals with the bottom four playing in relegation playoffs, the losers playing in a relegation final.

Kilkenny feature in Group 3 alongside Wexford and Laois. They will play Wexford on the opening day of the league (15 May), followed by Laois on 22 May, with the following weekend off.

  • Quarter-finals: Weekend 5/6 June
  • Semi-final / Relegation play-offs: Saturday 12 June
  • Final / relegation finals: Saturday 19 June
  • Final replay (if needed) 26/27 June

Division 3

Division 3 consists of two groups of four. First and second head to the semi-finals, the bottom in each group into a relegation final.

Carlow are drawn in Group 2 alongside Clare, Limerick and Waterford.

They will play Waterford away on 15 May, Limerick at home on 22 May and Clare at home on 29 May.

  • Quarter-finals: Weekend 5/6 June
  • Semi-final / Relegation play-offs: Saturday 12 June
  • Final / relegation finals: Saturday 19 June
  • Final replay (if needed) 26/27 June

Division 4

Lastly, Division 4 followed the same pattern as Division 3, albeit with no relegation so it’s just two groups of four, featuring Antrim, Tyrone, Cavan, Wicklow, Louth, Kildare, Roscommon and Mayo.

Knock-out dates are the same as Division 3.
