Poc Fada season is upon us again Carlow’s hurling and camogie competitions have been confirmed for Sliabh Bawn on Mount Leinster this coming Monday evening.
There are four competitions again this year with under 16 and senior groups in both codes. This year’s Leinster finals will also be held on Mount Leinster next month.
Clubs in the county are being encouraged to contact their relevant county boards with representatives for each code to take part next week.
Counties in Leinster are being encouraged to have their local finals on or before Saturday 17 June, with winners going forward to the provincial finals on Mount Leinster on Saturday 8 July. The Leinster Poc Fada final is the world’s largest, with 48 players from all over the province taking part. Leinster winners will then head to the All-Ireland Poc Fada finals on Annaverna Mountain in the Cooley Mountains (Louth) in August.
Clara’s Killian Phelan (Kilkenny) was named Leinster and All-Ireland champion last year.
